Hey, cool! A Hyperion TC! When's it gonna be finished?

When it's finished. I am not even going to hint at a possible release date - especially not now, when the whole project is still in a very embryonic stage. I also don't plan to sacrifice every minute of my waking life (yes, I have one) to it, so don't expect it anytime soon. Just check the progress log once in a while, and be patient.

Can I play as a character from the books?

No, but you should meet some of them during your travels.

So I can't be the Shrike and, like, cut things up?

No. The Shrike will of course play a part in what happens on Hyperion, and maybe, just maybe, you'll meet it. But if you want to play as as the near-invincible god of sharp implements, you'll have to look for another plug-in. Don't worry, there will be plenty of other challenges for you.

Will this plug-in span the entire Hyperion series?

No, only "Hyperion" and "The Fall of Hyperion" - basically, from a few years before the start of the first novel (so you have some time to make money and/or get a decent enough ship) to the end of the second book, a couple of months after the Fall.

"Endymion" and "The Rise of Endymion" take place almost 300 years later, and the universe has changed a lot. IMO it would be better to make the second story arc into a separate plug-in.

So, will there be a second plug for the "Endymion" arc, then?

That would be nice, but at this moment there are no plans in that direction (yet)...
