SPK were one of the original metal groups, shocking audiences with the heavy industrial equipment they used as "instruments".
But with their new single 'Junk Funk', they've opted for a less clamorous approach that's more synth-pop a la Depeche Mode than Steptoe And Son scrapyard banging.
Ironically their recent live show at London's prestigious ICA was stopped due to safety fears over their welding equipment.
Clearly a case of SPK wanting their junk and funk...
