Squadron Leader VAN LIERDE comes back from Brussels with the news that the Squadron will be going there for a fly past on liberation day. That is why, all of us, see on the Notice board at the Dispersal, that welcome notice. All pilots will fly to Brussels on the first of September except F/O DEBIE, F/O WAELBROECK, F/Sgt JOSPE, Sgt VAN CAMPERHOUET, who will proceed under their own steam. These pilots did so and the others waited feverishly.

After lunch, the fourteen aircraft of the Squadron took the air towards brussels, Lovely course. (245) F/O VAN ECKHOUDT went into trouble and had to land on the way. He reached Brussels by lifts, late in the evening.

LIBERATION DAY. The fly past goes all right. The party which followed our effort is very successful. Everybody had a personal souvenir of it but nobody was able to give a collective or general account of what has happened to the Squadron. The all thing started at what they call "L’APERO", which was the Club of the Belgian Squadron before the war.

We fly back from Brussels, not in a very tight formation, being very pleased of having spent a nice week-end.
